Today I’m excited to restore the entire archives of Early And Often, Chicago’s most complete coverage of the 2011 municipal elections. It’s all there, searchable, including the archives of campaign video, which is probably the most fun part.
The domain has changed, mostly because Aldertrack never owned the original, and CNC was not interested in parting with it.
I’m putting all the content up for free, no subscriptions required, and I’ll do my best to keep it up as long as I’m alive (which should be a while). There’s some terrific stuff in here, written and edited by some of Chicago’s best reporters.
I’m doing this for two reasons. First, there’s too much important information and reporting in here to keep it from the world. As the sole owner of Aldertrack now (my partner Jimm Dispensa parted with his share last year), I own the rights to the content. It needs to be out there.
Second, I’m just so darn proud of what our team did here. The world needs to see proof that a small team can really move the needle in an election.
